The 2018 ISA Field Day was held at the Hansen Center in Ames June 2-3, 2018.

Saturday’s events included IJSA board and regular meeting, ISA board meeting followed by a Q&A Session with ASA Staff Chip Kemp regarding some of ASA’s current programs.  During cattle check-in the IJSA Sponsored root beer floats and hosted a “Old-timer’s Showmanship Contest” fundraiser.

Sunday included awards and was show day for both the Futurity Show and IJSA members.  The awards presentation included the announcement of four Iowa Simmental Memorial Scholarships, two AJSA Bronze Merit Awards, and 73 Juniors from 48 counties showed 80 Champion Simmental/ Foundation Simmental animals at their County Fairs during 2017 and were recognized with a County Award.

Futurity & Junior Show: The Judge for the day was Matt Johnson from South Dakota.  Eleven exhibitors showed their Foundation and Simmental heifers in the Futurity Show.  The Junior Show had a good turnout with 63 members exhibiting 5 steers, 29 Foundation heifers, 42 Simmental heifers, one cow-calf pair, two prospect calves, and one junior bull.  The showmanship competition rounded out the day.
